How it works

Step 1
Shape it and size it
Round ends for a duffel that packs down, square ends for a box bag that holds its shape. Then the length and the size across, in millimetres.
Step 2
Fabric, zip, pocket, handles, strap
PVC or canvas, a half or full zip along the top, a pocket inside for the things you want first, carry handles on a webbing loop that runs under the bag, and a shoulder strap. The drawing and the price follow along.
Step 3
Sewn in Levin, sent to you
Cut and sewn on our own floor, on the same machines as the covers and canopies. Freight is chosen at checkout.

What do people make?
Duffels for the boat, the hut and the ute. PVC gear bags for dive kit, wet-weather gear, tools and ropes. Kit bags for a team, sized to the gear rather than the other way round. Sailing and rigging bags that live on deck.
Round or square ends?
Round ends make a duffel: soft, packs down when it's empty, swallows odd shapes. Square ends make a box bag: it holds its shape, stacks, and fills a locker or a tray properly. Same fabric, same zip, same price model.
PVC or canvas?
PVC wipes clean and keeps water out: wet gear, dive kit, anything that lives on a boat or in a truck. Canvas is softer and quieter and breathes, so damp gear dries out. It's the duffel look, and it wears in rather than out.
Which zip?
A half zip keeps a duffel simple and stiff along the top. A full zip opens the top along its length, easier to pack and to find things in. On a square-ended bag, a lid zip runs along the front and down both ends of the top, so the whole top folds back on a hinge at the back: the easiest to load and see into.
Is it waterproof?
The fabric is. The seams are sewn, so a bag left in the rain will let a little in at the stitching over time. For dry gear on a wet day it's fine; for a bag that gets dunked, ask us about a roll-top instead.
Can you put a name on it?
Yes. Say so in the notes and we'll ring you about the lettering before we cut. A run of bags for a team or a business is quoted per job.
How long until it arrives?
Each bag is cut and sewn to order in Levin. Current lead time is 1–2 weeks, shown on this page and on your order.
