Privacy Policy
Last updated 13 August 2026
Canvasland respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can do about it. It applies to canvasland.co.nz and is written to meet our obligations under the Privacy Act 2020.
Who we are
Canvasland, Unit 3C — 5 Bush Street, Levin 5510, New Zealand. If you have any question about this policy or about information we hold, contact us at sales@canvasland.co.nz or +64 6 368 7930.
What we collect
- Enquiry forms: your first and last name, email address, phone number, suburb or town, the product or service you're enquiring about, your timeframe, any project details you write, and any photos or plans you choose to upload.
- Site address: if you ask us for an on-site measure and quote, we also collect the address of the site so we can get to you. We don't ask for it otherwise.
- Shop purchases: your name, email address and delivery address, together with the details of what you ordered.
- Payment details: card payments are handled entirely by Stripe on their own secure checkout page. We never receive, see or store your full card number.
- Technical information: page analytics (see 'Cookies and analytics' below), how you arrived at our site — such as the page you landed on, the site that referred you, or the ad you clicked — and your IP address held briefly to rate-limit form submissions and block automated spam.
We only collect information we actually need in order to quote, make and deliver your job.
Photos you upload
Our enquiry form lets you attach photos, usually of the space or vehicle a job relates to. These are stored against your enquiry in our customer records and are used to prepare your quote and plan the work.
Please don't upload photos containing anything you wouldn't want us to hold — and be aware that photos of your property may indirectly identify you or your address. If you'd like a photo removed, ask us and we'll delete it.
Why we collect it
- To respond to your enquiry and prepare a quote.
- To make, deliver and install what you've ordered, and to provide aftercare, repairs or warranty support.
- To take payment and meet our tax and record-keeping obligations.
- To protect the website from spam and abuse.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for marketing you haven't asked for.
Who we share it with
- Pipedrive — our customer relationship system, which stores enquiries and any photos attached to them.
- Stripe — payment processing for shop orders.
- Vercel — website hosting and delivery.
- Google — website analytics and advertising measurement (see 'Cookies and analytics' below).
- Our suppliers and installers where a job requires it, limited to what they need to complete the work.
We share personal information only with the service providers we need in order to run the business, and only for that purpose:
Information held overseas
Pipedrive, Stripe, Vercel and Google store and process information on servers outside New Zealand. This means your information may be held in, or accessible from, other countries. We only use established providers who are contractually required to protect personal information to a standard comparable to the Privacy Act 2020.
How long we keep it
Enquiries and quotes are kept while there is a reasonable prospect of the job proceeding, and afterwards for as long as we may need them to support work we've done — warranties on our installations run for several years, so records of a completed job are generally kept for at least that period.
Records relating to a purchase are kept for at least seven years to meet New Zealand tax and business record requirements. Once information is no longer needed for any lawful purpose, we delete it.
Keeping it secure
The site is served over HTTPS and payment pages are hosted by Stripe. Access to our customer records is limited to Canvasland staff who need it, and the website's administration area is password-protected. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
Cookies and analytics
We use two analytics tools. Vercel Analytics measures aggregate page traffic without cookies and does not identify individual visitors. Google Analytics 4 helps us understand how visitors find and use the site, including whether our advertising is working; it sets cookies (names beginning _ga) that assign your browser a random identifier. We have not enabled Google's advertising personalisation features, and we don't use analytics to build profiles of identifiable people.
Google Analytics data is processed by Google on servers overseas. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites with Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or by blocking cookies for this site in your browser — the site works fine without them.
Where you've clicked one of our Google ads, we record that the visit came from the ad so we know our advertising led to your enquiry.
The site also sets a session cookie used to keep Canvasland staff logged in to the website's administration area. It is not set for ordinary visitors.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy of it, and to ask us to correct it if it's wrong. Email sales@canvasland.co.nz and we'll respond as soon as we can, and within 20 working days.
If you're not satisfied with how we've handled your information or your request, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz or on 0800 803 909.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes we'll update this page and the date shown at the top. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
