Order a pattern kit. Trace your van's awning rail onto our pattern cloth, find your rope size with our samples, and post it back. We make the awning to your pattern and courier it to you.
The full kit price comes off your awning if you go ahead.
What's in the kit
Everything we'd bring if we came to measure.
- Pattern cloth
- A 6 m length to tape along your van and trace the awning rail onto, curves and all.
- Rope sizer
- Short lengths of 8, 9 and 10 mm awning rope. The one that slides through your rail snugly is your size.
- Fabric swatches
- The Planosol stripes and plain colours, to hold up against the van.
- Marker and tape
- To trace the rail and hold the cloth on without marking the paint.
- Instructions and a measuring sheet
- Step by step, with the few measurements the cloth can't show us.
- A courier bag back to us
- Fold the cloth in with the sheet and send it to Levin.

- 02Trace the railTape the cloth along the van and trace the awning rail onto it, curves and all. Mark the door and the windows.
- 03Size the ropeSlide the rope samples into your rail. The one that runs through snugly is your size.
- 04Send it backFold the cloth in the courier bag with the measuring sheet and a few photos of the van.
- 05Your priceWe draw the awning up from your pattern and send you a fixed price. The kit price comes off it in full.
- 06Made and courieredWe make it in Levin and courier it to you, ready to slide into the rail.

How accurate is a traced pattern?
It's how we'd start if the van were here. The cloth gives us the exact line of the rail, including the curves that a tape measure can't, and the measuring sheet gives us heights. If anything's unclear when it comes back, we ring you before we draw it up.
Can't I just send photos and measurements?
For a straight rail and a roof-only awning, yes: that's the pole awning you can price online. Once the rail curves or there are walls to fit round a door and windows, the shape matters more than any one number, and that's what the cloth is for.
My rail is crushed, or missing in places.
Common on older vans. Trace what's there and mark the bad bits on the cloth. We can supply new rail to replace it, and the kit tells us how much.
What if I don't go ahead with an awning?
The kit is yours, and we keep your pattern on file. The kit price only comes off the awning if you order one.
Would you rather see the van?
If you can get to Levin, bring it in and we'll measure it ourselves. The kit is for when the van is too far away, or doesn't travel.
